It's Not What You Know but...

Have you ever heard the phrase- It's not what you know but who you know-?  Well, that has certainly held true for me in scrapbooking and papercrafting.  I have been so blessed in my 10+ years of doing this to be surrounded by amazingly creative women who are a source of creative inspiration.  Through thier willingness to share ideas with me, they leave a bit of themselves on each of my pages.

Take this layout, for instance.  There was so much inspiration going on here it was ooozing.  First of all the pic themselves inspired me.  During my DH vacation we took our grands to the zoo.  He doesn't get an opportunity to do that with us very often and this was the first time he had been.  It was a wonderful day and I was able to capture it with lots of pics.

The basic design of the layout was inspired by CTMH's how-to book Reflections.  My CTMH upline, Joy,  first introduced this to me and now I don't leave home without it!  Love it.  It's chalked full of ideas and inspiration.
Take a look at the techniques feautured on the page.  Joanne B.  taught me how to make this little bird.  All the body parts are peiced together from a peice of patterned paper. The beak and the tail are from a flower design on the paper.  So cute and simple!
The same day, Michelle C. taught me how to make this scalloped flower.  Just use our scalloped punch
to punch out a few scalloped circles.  (I think this flower has about 5).  Stack the flowers and insert and brad in the middle.  Cut along the scallops (petals) to add a bit of depth and interest.  Ink around the edges and then use your fingers to fluff the flower up a bit.  Love it!
This little guy was colored using Prisma Colored Pencils.  Pam T. taught me how to use them during a crop and i had to immediately get my own set.  I feel like a kid when I'm coloring all the stamp designs that CTMH has to offer.  So fun!

How about you?  Who or what inspires you?  How do you get your creative juices flowing?  I would love to hear a few of your comments.

Happy Scrappin'

Becca
