Technique Crazy

I totally loved putting this layout together!  It features a snapshot that my grandson took of me and "my girl"- my granddaughter Ella.  I knew I wanted to add lots of flowers and a shabby chic feel.  I really liked the way it turned out.
I went a little technique crazy...I used my mom's old sewing machine for the stitching and CTMH's Boutique Borders Acrylic Stamps to add interest to the stripped paper.
The flowers were made using CTMH's Scalloped Punch.  There are 4 different designs each using a slightly different technique.  I had a great time making these.
Oh, and I couldn't forget the bling!  I used CTMH's Adorable stamp set to random stamp the background and then added glitter.
Thanks for looking and I would love to hear your comments.  Until next time...

A Card Using CTMH's Delight and Cherished Flourishes

I wanted to share a card i made for my grandson's BSF teacher.  He has had this wonderful lady in his life for the last 1 1/2 years and she has made his experience with BSF a "delight".  Every week he looks forward to going and learning more about Jesus!
I used CTMH's Delight stamp set to create the layerd butterfly.  I stamped the butterfly 3 times in different coordinating inks, added glitter to make it bling, and then layered them with sticky dots.  I really like the way it turned out.  The swirl were made with CTMH's Cherished Flourishes.  I've had the paper for a while...not sure what brand...but I loved the soft feminine look and thought it would go well with what I had in mind for this card.  If your interested in either of these stamp sets.  Check out my website to get your today!  Happy Scrappin, Becca

Layered Flowers Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 13 of us highlighting the “Layered Flowers” Technique as shown on page 7 in the Spring/Summer 2011 Idea Book!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.  If you would like to start from the beginning, please visit this link Debi Barber .  While there you will also find a listing of all participants and their blog addresses if you should get lost or want to reference a blog along the way.  Let’s get started!

If you are coming from  Melissa Robinson Blog, you are on the right track!  This technique is highlighted with the Sophia paper packet in the Idea Book but you will find variations for its’ use through this hop.

I used the Mayberry paper pack and Dreams Come True Stamp Set.

If you would like to see details on the technique or my supply list, please continue reading below.  If not, please continue onto Tonya Whitehurst  Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

Supply List:
Mayberry Level 2 Paper Pack Item- #x7134B
Dreams Come True Acrylic Stamp Set- Item #D1470
Exclusive Inks:  Cocoa #z2114, Honey #z2162, Olive-#z2137 and Smoothie #z2196

The steps to Layered Flowers are:
  1. Stamp base image in one color and outline in another (if applicable to stamp selected).  Repeat on another piece of cardstock.
  2. Trim first image around all outer images.  Trim second image, cutting out portions of the flower (to create the layered effect).
  3. Curl ends of petals on second image and adhere on top of first image.  Layer mixtures of stamped accent and embellishments to finish.

Here you can see a visual demonstration of this technique.

Thanks for stopping by!  Continue ontoTonya Whitehurst   Blog to continue the hop!

Retreat Weekend

This weekend I was able to take off to Michelle's Crop n' Shed for a scrapbook retreat weekend.  It was fabulous!  It was so nice to get away with some of my best friends to scrapbook, watch movies, eat lots of junk food and have so many laughs your sides hurt!  These are the lovely ladies I spent the weekend with.
We are officially known as the Creme De La Croppers.  We're not all represented in this pic (there are 11 of us!) and we have been croppin together for about 10 years.  Each cropper is assigned a host month and this month was mine.  I gave everyone who came an Easter Basket full of goodies and a card-just to say thanks for coming out.

Easter Basket for Creme De La Croppers
As you can see, I am still making the rosettes..they are just so cute and easy to make!  The baskets are made with an 12x 12 piece of card stock.  Check out Cut Card stock  for an easy tutorial.  Of course I used Close To My Heart Papers.

After everyone arrived it was time to get busy.  I worked with CTMH's  Mayberry paper pack.  This paper pack is hard to resist.  The colors are fun, funky and fabulous!  It definitely makes me think of spring.  Here is a Flower Pot Card I made using it.  See what I mean!

I also used the pack to put together my sweet Ella's Birthday Layout
For the title, I used the Pennant Alphabet  set to make the "its your day" flags and the Poster Board set to create "bday girl".  I absolutely loved working with Trellis !  Look at all the beautiful flowers and butterflies on this layout.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed looking at my artwork.  I certainly enjoyed creating it.  Until next time.
